"Nonviolence is not a garment to be put on and off at will. Its seat is in the heart, and it must be an inseparable part of our being." ― Mahatma Gandhi
I confess: I take my gender for granted when it comes to the opportunity to wear skirts. I mean, men can't just go on a whim and decide to wear a skirt for the day out in the public, especially if they don't care for cross-dressing. Where I live, this could land them in jail. Funny how a silly piece of garment can get some people's knickers in a twist. Gender lines must be kept intact lest the world should spin off out of control into the burning black hole. Anyway, this is a post about dang skirts, so I'll keep it light.
Skirts, as you are most likely to have noticed are aplenty in the realm of woman's fashion. The variety in design, cut and shape will drive you quite mad if you're a person who prefers to keep it simple. So, I've narrowed down the focus to patterned pencil skirts that are visually out there - loud in print and color. I call them party-ready even though I don't do parties. They're even great for the casual days or nights when you feel like dressing different from the usual monotonous layers you've been putting up with. In a way, they can be taken as a kind of pick-me-up piece if the presence of the occasional bright colors and motif has the power to cheer you up even if it's for a little while.
Yes, retail therapy can be faux beneficial if you acknowledge that you are in fact tricking your mind to be satiated by your new finds and that nothing will ever absolutely takes the pain away. We all know this, except for when we don't. Ladies, shopping to heal something messed up within is akin to slapping on a band-aid on a broken ankle. You know your wallet will pay for the online spree but aside from having a pretty new wardrobe to go nuts over for a short time, the broken leg will eventually get infected. And if you're that mental and prefer to bury your face inside the screen as opposed to seeing your physician, you will ultimately self-destruct.

After finding time to meditate and the right reason does come to mind whatever that may be, then you may proceed (with caution). Here is a selection of party-worthy pencil skirts that can spruce up your Christmas/holiday party getup:

How to style such loud pencil skirts? I prefer to keep them as the only busiest piece in the wardrobe. The rest should be rendered in dark contrasting solid colors. For footwear, I'd go with ankle boots. What about you?
