The time I carried a tote with eyes and stood around and under trees to hide from the golden yet extremely potent tropical sun.
Hiya fellow beings: how are you? As promised, here’s another outfit post when I was experimenting with remote photo-shooting.
Someone suggested this years back and I think it was the lovely Shan from shannonvalle’s space and I finally realized how quick a process it can be to do this on your own.
With my mom photographing me, we would get hundreds of photos per session that I would have to go through and process before getting them up on the blog and usually, that could about ten pics max. These days, with me ‘touching’ the ‘button’ on my phone screen as a click, I take about 40 plus pictures when I’m feeling particularly inspired and energetic for some reason. On days when I just want to shoot and outfit quickly, I’ll take less than 20! That’s less digital noise everywhere on my phone and laptop. I highly recommend solo remote photo-shooting!
Anyhow, let’s talk about the outfit.
I wore an old black tee with a utilitarian khaki pants that I snipped the scrunchy cuffs at the end coz I’ve got fleshy ankles and those things imprint into my skin and makes me feel uncomfortable. After snipping it, I whimsically folded the ends and when I wore the pants again, I felt the veins, nerves and arteries on both of my legs screamed out in utter joy: We are free and flowy, thank you for answering our prayers!
The hero of this super duper casual ensemble is the tote which has one open eye. The other eye is caught winking. I love eyeballs and seeing eyes (open and closed) on the soft cotton tote makes me curiously happy. Perhaps, I’m feeling like someone is winking at me even though it’s just a tote. The trick to a happier life, folks. Nothing beats letting your mind rest upon things that make you smile even if it’s just a drawing of a happy face. That said, I sport the same pair of shoes as in the other running outfit previously. It’s my favorite shoes and I wear these all the dang time! We’ll see how long before the soles decide to say bye-bye to the bottom of the shoes for a solo adventure. I’m hoping they’re solemates.
On that really punny note, I hope you’re all in the pinkest of health.
Now that I've let all the puns out of the way, I have to mention that there will be more outfits lined up for your visual consumption so be sure to follow me on the blog if you’re into the OOTD thug life.
If not, just come here once in a while for my poetry and other spurr-of-the-moment writings that may be inspired by a leaky toilet pipe, lurky park trolls, red-ant-highway on the gate, thirsty mosquitoes, grass that's the greenest under my feet and curly-fry cloud patterns.
Everyone who comes into contact with me whether through the real-life 3D mode or the real-but-not-quite internet mode may delightfully fall under the category of: characters to be spun creatively for entertainment with perhaps, a deep PSA message at the end. Please, if you feel, like I’ve written something that seems to FEEL personal to you, it really is not. Just leave a spicy comment for me instead!
Wow, that was a long one. Thank you to those who were wonderful enough to send me emails with positive encouragements. I haven’t had the opportunity to reply to each one of your motivating emails but please do know that I am utterly moved and inspired by your thoughts and the fact that you took the time to type a few lines for me!
Once again, I thank you from the bottom of the deepest pit of my being!
As always, here's a quote to end this entry and it’s by Mooji.
“There is a presence, a silence, a stillness which is here by itself. There is no doer of it, no creator of this stillness. It is simply here in you, with you. It is the fragrance of your own self. There is nothing to do about this, it is naturally present. This fragrance of peace, this spaciousness, it is the fragrance of your own being.”
