Cloudy Floral

The time it was outfit time!
I wore something one fine evening pre-pandemic...
Not that I have ceased wearing anything post-covid...
I just had to type those two lines to mention the one thing that has saturated our collective consciousness this year for fun. That said, here's an outfit post break the monotony. Not that anything is ever monotonous here! Well, let's get into it.
It was slightly chilly at first so I thought of playing with the slouch-on-slouch kind of silhouette feels. I layered a really boxy grey blouse over a strap midi floral dress. As I was twirling around admiring the birds, trees and entertaining my cats, I started to feel the temperature rising within and I retired the top. So, here's the thing about the floral midi dress. It a real vintage, from mom's endless closet.
One of the straps wanted to get away from the old dress. Luckily, it didn't happen while I was clad in it. And thank goodness for my sweet mom with her magic of her needle and thread! She got the strap back into position!
It's such a fun dress to wear as it's got front buttons and side splits. I'm not sure how old this dress is but I sure love wearing it! It's got some weight to the fabric so it's more of a breezy autumnal frock type. I don't usually wear long dresses but this one is pretty long for a midi in my dress book.
Outfit story aside, if you're into natural anti-aging which is laughing, then please, you've got to WATCH Sebastian Maniscalco! I cannot believe I just found the comedian this year! The corona year! Hahah. When I said 'watch' - I really mean WATCH as he acts out his comedy on stage.
It's a great stumble on YouTube and I must thank the spirits that led me to such a hilarious personality on screen. I understand that humor is subjective but if this doesn't make you laugh - then, pray tell: are you sure you're not a rock from space! Hmmm.
Talking about space, did you know there is a water reservoir of an astronomical size out there? It's old news (I was around in 2011 but this escaped me) but I just found this out yesterday! Read it and get awed: Astronomers find largest, most distant reservoir of water.
Anyways, hope you are having a safe self-quarantine time. Cook simple yet delicious food. Drink loads of water. Dance. Do your favorite type of exercise. Don't forget to read because you love to learn. Observe and reflect. Meditate. Perfect the art of taking a nap. I've been pond snail-stalking as I take up a new hobby: planted aquarium. Don't believe it? Would you please look at this cute snail over here and disagree?!
To close this entry, here's a quote by Kurt Vonnegut:
“Take it moment by moment, and you will find that we are all, as I’ve said before, bugs in amber.”
